In response to the devastation brought about by the recent earthquake and typhoon that affected communities across Cebu, Universal Cultural Foundation, Inc. (UCFI), in partnership with the NUSTAR Resort Cebu CSR program NUServe, extended relief assistance to the Cebu City government to support recovery efforts and provide essential aid to affected residents.

The donations were turned over in several batches to the Cebu City Local Government Unit and formally received by Nestor D. Archival Sr., helping the city address urgent needs of communities impacted by the calamities. Deliveries took place on November 17, December 1, and December 13, 2025, as part of a coordinated relief program aligned with the priority requirements identified by the local government.

Among the items donated were 467 CARE packages containing rice, canned goods, hygiene supplies, noodles, biscuits, and drinking water; 400 emergency tents; 800 mosquito nets; and 1,150 solar lights to help provide temporary shelter and lighting for affected households. Additional food assistance was also provided through assorted canned goods and rice sacks, helping ensure that families in evacuation centers and damaged communities had access to basic necessities during the recovery period.

In addition to assisting displaced families, UCFI also extended support to workers affected by the calamity. Four hundred CARE packages were distributed to NUSTAR team members, while assistance was provided to GPA Food Hub, a micro entrepreneur from Daanbantayan Cebu, which was heavily affected by the earthquake, through support for the purchase of peanut brittle delicacies, helping them regain economic stability after the disaster.

These donations were part of a broader emergency response effort activated to assist communities impacted by the disaster. The earthquake and severe weather events caused significant disruption across Cebu, prompting relief operations and humanitarian support from both government and private organizations to aid affected residents and accelerate recovery efforts.

Through this initiative, UCFI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting disaster response and community resilience. By working closely with the Cebu City LGU and other partners, the foundation helped ensure that critical relief supplies reached those who needed them most, providing comfort and support to communities as they rebuild and recover from the calamity.
